To the casual visitor, the organisation behind Quinta do Lago and its golf courses can be a little bewildering. Let us see if we can clear this up.

First of all there is a company called Quinta do Lago SA (QdeLSA), which is the resort developer and the ultimate authority within Quinta do Lago. Actually this company does not own very much as it has already sold the freehold of nearly all of the designated plots. However it still runs the resort and is co-responsible (with the Loulé Câmara) for all the infrastructure.

Then there is a company called Sociedede de Golfe da Quinta do Lago (SGQL), which leases the golf courses from QdeLSA, and runs them as a commercial venture. This company is responsible for the maintenance of the golf courses and the organisation of tee times, and establishing golf contracts with outside parties. If you come here as a green fee player then you will be dealing exclusively with this company.

And then there is the golf club, Clube do Golfe da Quinta do Lago (CGQL). This entity is a private non-profit making Association that has contractual links to SGQL and QdeLSA but is a club that organises and administers the golf for its members.
